Saturday June 29th NCK will offer an “Introduction to Road Racing” On the 2 mile Thunderhill West track outside of Willows California.
We’ve heard many are a bit timid about just showing up to a race with no experience. To address that we are going to offer that initial experience at a vastly reduced price of $50 for your first time out.

All you need is a kart that meets your local tracks safety standards, a snell 2010 or newer helmet, neck collar and basic driver safety equipment. Usually nothing more than what your local sprint track requires. The only thing you will need to change on your kart will be the gearing. Tires are open so run what ever you have.

Thunderhill West is a great track to get your first experience on. The straights are not quite as long and it has some tighter sprint like corners to deal with. Add in elevation changes, some banking and it’s a perfect track for karts.

The day will begin with a 20 minute lead and follow type session at 9am. 
After that the track will be open to all for practice until 10:30 
The day is split into 3 total groups, 2 race groups and the Intro group.
The intro group will be on track for open lapping at 11:20, 1:50 and 3:20. Each of these sessions will be appx 20 minutes in length.

Now should you feel comfortable enough to want to race at some point during the day we will gladly add you to the appropriate race group at no additional charge.

Gates will open at 7am and we will do signups that morning. Minors will be allowed but must be over 13 and have a parent or legal guardian present to sign the release.
